Luxury Home Plans Are “Luxury Lifestyle Plans:

Not only size and location but also design factors into the equation of what makes a home qualify as true luxury. Luxury home plans create the “infrastructure” that enables a luxury lifestyle, and they promote an ambiance of luxury.

The intense uniqueness of luxury homes tends to make “luxury design” a somewhat slippery term, but there are, nonetheless, certain plan features that are typical of a great number of luxury homes, including the following:

    • Open floor plans – that flow freely from room to room and even go so far as to integrate indoor and outdoor areas. Combines with high ceilings, abundant windows and skylights, and wide entryways, the effect is one of both unity and freedom.
    • Ground-level master suites – with spa-style bathrooms, his/her walk-in closets, sitting areas, private verandas, generous open space mid-room, and quick access to other key areas of the house. Luxurious guest suites are also a must-have for many luxury homes.
    • Gourmet kitchens – outfitted with all the most advanced and most efficient appliances, lined with well lit, natural stone counter tops, equipped with slide-out cabinets, a walk-in pantry, a separate butler’s pantry, and easy access to the wine cellar.
    • Outdoor kitchens – featuring large, built-in gas grills, a high-end fire pit, an outdoor fireplace, a small home bar, stone seats/counters to sit on/at, and close proximity to an outdoor swimming pool. You can also expect the patio and decorative greenery to be integrated into the outdoor cooking and eating area.
    • Entertainment rooms – and features, such as home theaters, media rooms, indoor mini-gyms, luxurious indoor fireplaces, gaming rooms, and more.
  • What should I consider when choosing among luxury home plans?

The first and foremost consideration when choosing a floor plan for your luxury home is how you intend to use your space.

    • Is the home for you and a partner, or is it for a growing family?
    • Do you frequently entertain or house guests?
    • Do you want a yard?
    • Will you need to expand in the future?
    • Do you need or want a garage?
    • Where do you prefer the utilities to be located?
    • How big of a kitchen do you want?
    • Do you need a lot of storage or closet space?

Of course, there is also cost to consider. Can you get everything you want and need for a price that is within your budget? If not, you can prioritize the features into “must-haves” and those that are less important. Your final choice may be a compromise between price and features, but not always. Another way to get cost down is the location of the property.
